Holt Signs With FPHL’s Rockers

For the second time in a week, The Blue Water Stars Professional Hockey Club are excited to announce that yet another player has made their way up the hockey ladder. Forward George Holt has been called up by the Motor City Rockers of the Federal Prospects Hockey League.

The promotion comes just a few days after Stars Forward Matt Stoia signed a one-way deal with the FPHL's Mississippi Sea Wolves. "It's always special when we’re able to move a player to a higher level, it really shows that our organization is doing things the right way" said Stars President Austin Dunn.

Holt, the Rochester Hills, Michigan native is no stranger to the next league up. Tallying over 150 games in the Fed, hes now moving back up to wind down the tail end of his FPHL career. "I'm excited to sign with the Rockers for the rest of 2024. I know the Stars have my rights in the MIHL and I look forward to suiting up for Blue Water on opening night next season, they're a first class organization from top to bottom" Holt told us.

Blue Water is fully committed to helping every player fulfill their hockey agendas, but it is no secret this leaves quite the gap in the Stars Forward unit. "We're in the business of developing hockey players and doing what we can to get them to a higher level. Moving up two players in such a short amount of time is just a testament to how we want this organization ran. Dunner, Melissa, and myself have been working dilligently to find the right guys on and off the ice, there's a void to be filled but we have the roster in place to still compete" said Stars General Manager Derrick Eshelman. Blue Water Head Coach Brian Bjornholm sees this as an opportunity for the rest of the team, "It's a next man up mentality. Of course we're going to miss those guys on and off the ice, but this presents a great opportunity for our younger talent to showcase what they can do and why they deserve the next phone call. Seeing Holt and Matty get bumped up so quickly shows everyone what it takes to excel at this level and the next."

The Stars continue their playoff push with a game against their crosstown rivals Detroit Warhawks January 6th and then return home against the Muskegon Voyagers on January 13th at Macomb Suburban. Tickets can be purchased at ticketsource.us/blue-water-stars-hockey.
